Before becoming our foster dog, Barkley was found as a stray and spent a few months in a shelter. While we don't know his exact history, our best guess is that he wasn't treated well in his past, but you'd never know it. Barkley is the sweetest, friendliest, and most loving dog. He loves meeting new people and all he wants is to be near his foster family. He'll curl up with you in bed, lay by your feet while you're watching TV, and he loves to hang outside with you. Barkley has come so far in the month he's been with us. When we first got him, he was terrified of the stairs, but now he goes up and down like a pro! Barkley also wasn't really sure how to play or really be a dog, but now some of his favorite hobbies are chewing his rope toy, playing fetch, and running around in the grass outside. He loves, loves, loves treats and he already knows sit, shake, and lay down. We're still working on stay and come, but he is a quick learner! Barkley is almost 100% housebroken and he has been staying in the house by himself uncrated when we leave for work (he still can go in a crate if needed). He loves to sleep with his foster family in bed! Barkley would be best in a home that does not have another dog, but he is ok on walks when he sees another dog. Still working on socialization, but it will take some time before he's able to be around other dogs. Barkley would be an awesome addition to any home and wants nothing more than to bring happiness to his family!
Barkley has been neutered, microchipped and provided with all standard vaccinations. If you are interested in learning more or applying for adoption for Barkley, please email email@example.com
